Hi from Poemancer! We’ve been very busy with a few exciting updates—including forthcoming opportunities for your own poetry writing.
April is National Poetry Month, which means…
Poem-A-Day Prompts!
Just like last year, we’ll be sending you a poetry prompt every day for the next 30 days. This year, we’re going to be pulling inspiration from the Poemancer card decks themselves, which offer nearly-endless permutations of ideas to help you write your next inspired poem.
We will be publishing these prompts in our newsletter, on the Poemancer website, and…
On Instagram!
Follow us there! @Poemancer
We will be posting our poetry prompts there and would love to see what you write to our prompts as well. We will also be announcing…
Our Kickstarter Campaign
We have been developing Poemancer for over 2 years and are so excited to finally share it with the world. But in order for us to bring our game to your writing desk, we’ll need your support.
We will be posting a Kickstarter campaign to fundraise for our initial launch of the Poemancer project. Funders will receive a copy of the game, and donors to some of our higher tiers can receive a broadside, a special edition inspiration card, or feedback on a set of poems.
If any of our prompts have helped you write new poems, we guarantee that the Poemancer card decks will benefit your writing. Our Kickstarter will tentatively launch on April 21st, so save the date!
Poemancer Launch Party (or Parties?)
If you live in or near New York City (or, if you’re daring enough to book a trip just to hang out with poets), we plan on hosting at least one launch party to celebrate the Poemancer game and fundraise for the Kickstarter. More details soon!
Postscript: Updates on Poem Submissions
We have been very busy getting everything ready for this very busy April, which means we have not yet made decisions on every poem that was submitted to our call for poems in the Transformation Deck. I’m so sorry for the delay, but I promise to reply to all submitters as soon as possible.
